I bought these for under cabinet task lighting. I don''t have any experience with any other LED lighting systems so I cannot compare, but so far it''s doing a good job. These lights are maybe not as bright as I had hoped, but I do like the white light compared to incandescent. And they run quite cool which is a good thing. There are a couple of issues you should be aware of, however. First, the current rating on this page is misleading - it''s actually 160mA per 30 LED cluster, so this fixture consumes 480mA nominal (you can get the info from the Albeo web page). Second, the light has three brightness levels. If you simply plug the light in it comes on at the highest brightness level, but if you use the switch it comes on at the lowest brightness level and you need to push it twice to cycle through to the highest brightness level. The graduations in brightness are not dramatic, so I find that fairly useless. This page also says you can use the Insteon LampLinc V2 to dim the light, but I have thus far been unable to get that to work. When you try to dim the light the light starts to blink on and off, indicating it''s not getting enough power. I suspect the only way to actually dim the light is via the switch, and there''s no way as far as I can tell to do that remotely. Another issue with the Insteon dimmer is that it comes by default in a current sense mode that is designed to allow for local control of the device. Unfortunately, this causes the light to flash every ten seconds or so when the LampLinc is off, probably due to a slow build up of charge somewhere in the lighting system (I don''t really know). Fortunately, you can disable this mode, but you need to download the user manual for the dimmer for instructions which involved sending it some X-10 codes.
