Well this is a replacement unit for one of two ordered that did not work. Smarthome promptly sent the replacement with no questions

I really like these candles. They have a VERY realistic flame effect and being LED based, they run a really long time on a set of batteries. I have left them on overnight several times and they are still running on the original batteries. These work especially well outdoors where normal candles might have there flames be blown out by wind or rain. The only small downside to these is, while the glow of the "flame" through the side of the candle is very realistic, they cast clearly artificial shadows on the ceiling. Actually kind of interesting in a way, but clearly not real. This is not an issue outdoors of course. The only feature I would like to see in a future version would be something to automatically turn off the candle in 2-8 hours. The candle has a simple on/off switch on the base and will stay "lit" until you manually turn it off. Real candles will burn out after a few hours and having a switch position that would turn the candle off after some fixed amount of time would be a nice "realism" addition.
