"The Laser Stars puts on an amazing "show". I did have a failure of the device after about a week of 3 hour per day operation( it suddenly became very noisy), I contacted the manufacturer and they replaced it with a new unit without any difficulty. I hope it will be reliable because it is a spectacular unit in function...I'm just uncertain about reliability coupled with the short 45 day warranty. "the laser stars are extremely easy to set up and use. just plug it in, point it at the ceiling or a blank wall (or the floor to amuse the kitties), and turn it on. however..... the first unit was sent back, due to the stars "skipping" and "jumping" and the clouds not moving. smarthome exchanged it (very easily - thank you very much for that!). the second unit seems to be working better. the only odd glitch is when the room is cold (below 55*F), the stars do not come on at full brightness. only the few fixed stars are lit. as the machine warms up, more stars begin appearing, and then BAM! they're all there. personally, i wouldn't purchase this item again. definitely not worth $180. but, my husband really enjoys the stars, so we're keeping it." - PAULA - WEST MILFORD, NJ
