Essential Info
Forget about buying a separate printer, mass storage device, or other USB peripherals for every computer in your house, the Belkin® Network USB Hub will allow you to connect up to 5 different USB devices that can be shared across your entire network. By connecting the hub to an existing Wi-Fi router via a standard cat. 5 Ethernet cable, each computer on your network will have wireless access to any USB devices connected to the hub. Using the included software, your computer thinks that devices connected to the hub are actually attached to the computer. By daisy chaining up to two more Hubs together, you can share a total of 15 USB devices. Now you can share printers, mass storage devices, scanners, cameras, hard drives, web cams and even music from an MP3 Player. By daisy chaining up to tow more Hubs together, you can share a total of 15 USB devices. Please note: The Belkin Network USB Hub with 5-Ports will work with an existing wireless network or router, sold separately; the device does not operate wirelessly as a stand alone unit.

Multiple User Support The Belkin Network USB Hub with 5-Ports actually simulates a direct USB connection, which means if you have the Hub connected to your router as part of your home network, only one user can be connected to any single device at one time. For printers, the Hub will allow a user to connect for a print job and then immediately disconnect that user to allow others to use the printer; for other devices, the software allows users to contact each other to request that they connect from a device.
Network Compatibility While the Hub is compatible on any network with an Ethernet connection, the quality of the connection between a network computer, the hub and USB devices will always depend on the actual speed of your wireless network.
Device Compatibility The main design of the Hub was to link printers and mass storage devices for sharing across a network. It does however support almost any other device such as iPods, most standard webcams, keyboards and mice, multifunction machines, scanners and media readers. Please note that High-speed isochronous devices (such as high-definition web cams and video docking stations) may not be compatible with the Network USB Hub.
