Essential Info
Traditional surge protectors and power strips allow for multiple devices to plug in to a single power outlet. However, they don't account for the size that many bulky power adapters take up and offer no coaxial protection. This can render receptacles blocked and unusable; and your cable connected components open for damage. The cleverly designed Surge Ro-Tector 8-180 incorporates six 180° rotating receptacles which permit large power adapters to fit side by side, in the same amount of space as a traditional power strip. In addition to the rotating receptacles, there are two fixed receptacles which also accept wide adapters. Low loss in and out coaxial connections are positioned at the end of the power strip to provide protection for your cable, antenna, or satellite system. A savvy consumer will use an all-in-one surge protector like this to solve their power protection (up to 2160 joules) and connection problems.
Hands-On Research
The Surge Ro-Tector 8-180 worked as described. Upon plugging the product in, the power switch was pressed to the on position. The power indicator light, grounded indicator light and protected indicator light came on immediately. Each receptacle and coaxial connection was tested individually with success. The product was then tested with each receptacle and coaxial connection in use simultaneously with all powered items operating as normal. Each receptacle was tested with oversized plugs. The ability to rotate each receptacle made each plug fit side by side with no problem. Pulling each connected plug through the the cord maangement clips was a nice feature that brought all of the cords together. The six foot power cord was an added bonus as most other power strips come with a one foot to three foot cord.

The Surge Ro-Tector is a non-traditional surge protector that can accommodate up to eight regular or oversized plugs and AC adapters and a one coaxial cable. While maintaining a traditional in-line shape, the unique ability to individually rotate six receptacles 180° is unlike other surge protectors on the market. Several simple basic features make the Surge Ro-Tector 8-180 user friendly:
A push button power switch lights up when the unit is plugged in and the button is pushed on.
An additional green light is illuminated to indicate the electricity is properly grounded
A red light is illuminated to indicate the surge protection is working correctly
Two cord management clips are fixed at the end of the unit which open up and allow cords to run together and prevent entanglement
Holes are incorporated on the back of the product so it can be used in a wall mount application.
Energy absorption/dissipation
This rating, given in joules, tells you how much energy the surge protector can absorb before it fails. A higher number indicates greater protection. Look for a protector that is at least rated at 200 to 400 joules. For better protection, look for a rating of 600 joules or more. The Surge Ro-Tector 8-180 is rated at 2160 joules.
