Now you secure an electrical wire independently or connect several wires together with your hands in a matter of seconds. Use these wire nuts for your lighting and electrical needs. First turn the power off at the main circuit panel that is supplying electricity to the wires that you want to work on. Cut about two inches of the ends of the wire off and then, use a stripper, to strip off about one inch of the insulation from each wire that will need a wire nut attached. Then simply insert the yellow wire into the end of this wire nut and twist the wire nut clockwise to tighten the wire nut down on the wire. These wire nuts accept 3 #18 to 2 #12 gauge wire combinations and do not require any pre-twisting. They are not waterproof but are an excellent option for indoor and outdoor usage in places where it will remain dry. It can be reused and does not require a junction box.
