Essential Info
Home automation control just got easier. The BlueKey Bluetooth Control System gives you the ability to use almost any Bluetooth enabled cell phone or device to operate your INSTEON or X10 home automation products, and many other low-voltage relay based devices. Out of the box, the Bluekey transceiver supports the PowerLinc Modem, sold separately, for controlling INSTEON and X10 devices over your home's existing AC wiring. Additionally, there are seven programmable relays, each of which supports up to 8 control modules for a total of 56 inputs/outputs. The Java-based application software loads onto a Bluetooth phone like any other application. But what makes the product really unique is the on-screen programming that allows you to configure (with delays, if desired) each relay and label each command (up to 82) via an onscreen wizard. Once installed, you will have the ability to operate devices up to 300 feet away for Class 1 Bluetooth products.

Mobile Device Application Software Description (included with Control Module)
Generic application for universal control, application is pre-configured with 4 user functions and four momentary outputs. Application is completely configurable by the user through the mobile device.
Specific Notes about Carrier Compatibility
AT&T
AT&T branded cell phones require the applications to be AT&T signed and to be Over The Air (OTA) downloaded to the cell phone. There are AT&T signed versions of this application. Some AT&T branded Motorola cell phones do not have Java JSR-82 Bluetooth, although the un-branded, unlocked versions of these same phones may.
Note: This does not include the Apple iPhone or the RIM Blackberry. There are separate applications for these.
T-Mobile
T-Mobile branded cell phones will usually work with UTI signed or unsigned applications. There are UTI signed and unsigned versions of this application. Some T-Mobile branded Motorola cell phones do not have Java JSR-82 Bluetooth, although the un-branded unlocked versions of these same phones may.
T-Mobile G1
Due to technical limitations on the G1, this application does not run on the G1 at this time.
A special Android version of the application is being developed for the G1. Expected release time is Q1 2009.
Sprint
The Sprint LG Fusic and LG Muzic will work. Some other Sprint branded cell phones will work. Future Sprint branded cell phones will have greater compatibility. To load the applications onto a Sprint cell phone requires a BlueKey technician to make modifications to the cell phone to accept the application at this time. Future changes coming to Sprint should eliminate this need.
Sprint iDEN
Most Sprint iDEN phones will work with either unsigned or UTI signed applications.
Note: As of April 2008, it is not possible to load new software onto iDen cellular phones. Sprint has been working with Motorola on this issue. No ETA for a fix has been announced as of yet.
Verizon
This application is NOT compatible with the standard Verizon BREW cell phones. This application IS compatible with the Open Initiative unlocked cell phones that are usable on Verizon's network that meet the requirements.
Others
Any unlocked cell phones that meet our requirements will work with our application.
Specific Notes About Manufacturer Compatibility:
Apple
At this point in time, Apple has not made available any way of creating Bluetooth applications for the iPhone or iPod Touch. When they do so, an application will be created for them.
Research in Motion (RIM)
NOTE: Requires Blackberry Software Version 4.2.1.xxx and up. It will work with: Pearl, Flip, Curve, Bold, Storm, 8800 Series, 8700 Series, 7200 Series, 7100 Series, 7520 and all newer Blackberry products. Requires a RIM signed application. There are RIM signed versions of our applications, and support both Over The Air (OTA) install the application to the phone, and Blackberry Desktop Manager installations of the applications to the phone.
LG
NOTE: For LG GSM cell phones ONLY - CDMA cell phones not supported yet. There are LG Signed versions of our applications for use on LG GSM cell phones. For Sprint branded LG FUSIC and LG MUZIQ -there are special versions for these phones.
Motorola
NOTE: For Motorola cell phones that are NOT AT&T, Verizon or SPRINT branded. There are UTI signed versions of our applications for these phones.
Motorola AURA
This application will run on the Motorola AURA. Because of the round screen on the AURA, there may be navigation issues.
Nokia
NOTE: For Nokia cell phones that are NOT AT&T, Verizon or SPRINT branded. There are special versions of the applications for Series 40 2nd edition cell phones, and UTI signed and unsigned versions of the application for Series 60, Series 80 and Series 90 Nokia cell phones.
SAMSUNG
NOTE: For SAMSUNG cell phones that are NOT AT&T, Verizon or SPRINT branded. This application may require using cell phone's browser to download application. There are UTI signed and unsigned versions of our applications for these cell phones.
SONY
NOTE: For SONY cell phones that are NOT AT&T, Verizon or SPRINT branded, there are UTI signed and unsigned versions of our applications for these cellphones.
Windows Smartphones
NOTE: For Windows Smartphones that are NOT AT&T, Verizon or SPRINT branded
NOTE: Only works on Windows Mobile 5 and 6 and up
NOTE: A Windows software and reference hardware issue with Windows Mobile 5 and 6 and up handsets may prevent proper operation of our application on the handset. Microsoft has fixed this issue in their software and reference hardware specifications. Revised hardware will be released sometime early 2009 that will correct the current issues and allow proper operation of Bluetooth applications on all Windows Smartphones.
There are UTI signed and unsigned versions of our applications for these cell phones.
Older Cellular Phones
This application does support older cell phones that use Java MIDP 1.1 and Java JSR-82 Bluetooth with special unsigned versions of our applications.
