Good replacement for the older rocker switch style keypad and separate controller with address setting dials. This new unit is easy to program from the keypad itself.

This switch is awesome and it only took me minutes to install. Keep in mind, I already had X10 lighting installed. I previously used the X10 gang switch with four rocker switches also available on the Smarthome website. But that thing was difficult to use and it got to the point where someone would have to hit the rocker several times to make the contact just right to get the lights on or off, or dimmed. I like X10 in general, so I tried this new switch and it really improved things and even added a feature I did not have on the previous gang switch, the all-on/all-off feature. Setting the codes was very easy, I just looked at the code set on the previous switch and set them up on the new switch. About the only thing I did not like, is that you could not set the code until you connected the switch to power. The other thing that took a few minutes to figure out, was how to removed the switch cover to set the code. I looked for some kind of quick instructions and did not see any, and knowing it had to come off to set the codes, I just started carefully prying in different places and it eventually started coming off. Even with those minor problems, this new switch works so much better than the last switch I had, it is amazing, and I am willing to deal with it. My wife thinks I am a hero now. I really liked this product and ordered another one for another X10 rocker style gang light switch that was giving me problems. Smarthome had this product at a good price when comparing to other internet X10 vendors. It wasn't the cheapest, but the price difference with the cheapest was negligible and when considering shipping costs and email advertisement policies and options, I think Smarthome was the best option. I had used Smarthome previously for other products, so I knew I was dealing with a good internet vendor. I recommend this light switch wholeheartedly.
