Essential Info
The Motion Sensor Floodlight is a fantastic way to add simple, automated lighting to your home. It was primarily designed to act as an outdoor floodlight, replacing an existing light by your font porch, back patio, garage door, driveway and other possible entryways/exits. Using a built in motion sensor, two lights (bulbs sold separately) will be activated when movement has been detected within the 60 foot range, 110° coverage angle. The sensitivity of motion sensor can be adjusted to fine tune the area you are trying to cover. The "ON-TIME" is adjustable between one, five, or 10 minutes. By limiting the ON-TIME, you will provide lighting only when needed, which cuts down on energy consumption. A photocell also limits the use of this product to darkness, so it won't go off during the day and waste electricity. These two factors make this product ENERGY STAR compliant. Since this product is hardwired, replacing an existing light, it can also be manually turned on or off. This Motion Sensor Floodlight can also be used as a way to notify you that someone is approaching your home and as a way to offer minimal security against intruders. Avoid Aiming the Motion Sensor Floodlight at:
Objects that change temperature rapidly, such as heating vents and air conditioners. These heat sources could cause false triggering.
Areas where pets or traffic may trigger the control.
Nearby large, light-colored objects reflecting light may trigger the shut-off feature. Do not point other lights at the sensor.
Rated for Outdoor Use
The Motion Sensor Floodlight is designed for outdoor use when installed with an appropriate weatherproof box, or adaptor plate, each sold separately. Optionally, you can caulk the wall plate and mounting surface with silicone.
