Although you need to keep the solar panel free of debris accumulation (snow, leaves, lawn clippings, etc.) or the batteries will not be able to charge in the sunlight.

Choose an outdoor location with full, direct sunlight where the Solar Lighthouse Garden Light can receive at least 8 hours of sunlight each day. The solar panel recharges the battery each day to allow for nighttime lighting. Shadowed locations will not allow the battery to charge fully and will reduce the hours of nighttime lighting. The selected location should not be near nighttime light sources such as porch lights or a streetlight as these may cause the Solar Lighthouse Garden Light to turn off automatically.
