During the day, the solar panel on the top of the light will convert the sunlight into electricity and recharge the included Ni-Cd rechargeable battery. In the evening the light will turn on automatically. The hours of light generated with each charge depends on the geographical location, weather conditions and seasonal lighting availability.
Although the Ni-Cd rechargeable battery included with every unit is designed to provide years of reliable use, most rechargeable batteries do begin to deplete after several years. When this happens, the AA battery can be easily replaced with newer ones, available anywhere batteries are sold. Light bulb included.
