Turn the switch to "on" and place the Shoe Deodorizer in the shoes to be sanitized. The unit will work for approximately 15 minutes at a time, cycling off for 5 minutes and back on for 3. It produces a safe level of ozone to clean and sanitize the air in that small location. For stubborn odors, allow the unit to remain on for up to 6 hours; after that time, it will shut off automatically.
