  • For indoor use only

Essential Info

There's no question that remote controls make life easier, so why limit their use to your television and other audiovisual equipment? Designed to be used with the Motorized Drape Controller, this multi-channel remote control can manage up to four motorized drapes or vertical blinds, individually or in groups, as well as any lamps or appliances in a room. Since the remote control uses radio signals, you do not have to aim at the drape motor or lamp, even if it is located behind furniture.

Here's how it works: Simply plug the receiver into a wall outlet, make sure that your lamp is switched on, and then plug the lamp into the receiver outlet. That's it! Now you can switch it on and off with the remote from up to 50 feet away. To add remote control to additional motorized draperies or virtually any additional 110-volt device, simply add an extra receiver to control your drapes, lights or appliances.

The 64-Channel RF Remote for Motorized Drape Controller consists of two parts: a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter measures only 4" x 2" x 3/4" and can control any number of receivers.

Note: This unit is not X10 compatible.

needs to come with power supply built in for drapes way to bulky when the paower supply is pluged into it
KIRK -- belle river, ON   11/5/2010
    Easy. No glitches.
    JOHN -- missoula, MT   10/21/2010
I have six of these and only one of the drape motors. Mine help a wheelchair-bound lady throughout her home. Frankly, I use a couple at my place, too. You can control lights everywhere and you can do so without interference from controllers in nearby apartments and houses.
    DAVID -- auckland, XX   9/7/2010
The transformer is plunged into the bottom of the receiver unit which is a bulky and a unpractical design, works well though. Also you have to switch the unit off after the curtains/etc have finished their function otherwise nothing will work next time to wish to use the device this takes kinda takes away part of the automation.
THOMAS -- san diego, CA   8/16/2010
An absolute must when using the add-a-motor drape controller. works great.
    KWABENA -- durham, NC   8/1/2010
Really neat device. You can turn several items on/off at the same time by setting them to the same channel. I use it to turn on/off my wireless transmitter/receiver.
STAN -- pismo beach, CA   4/12/2010
    Again,what I expected
    DAVID -- osprey, FL   8/25/2009
I received the replacement drive axle 29088 today and installed it successfully. The toughest part was pushing the old axle out from its hole but otherwise the job was easy and the motor now works. Thank you.
STEPHEN -- oak harbor, OH   2/19/2008
works like we want it to.
    TERRY -- wyoming, MI   2/2/2008

    ROGER -- davie, FL   10/13/2007
All of the items worked great, were very easy to install and worked perfectly
Dick Flipp -- little canada, Minnesota   3/31/2008
It works but at 15 ft it is sensitve to which direction I point it. Is there a way to use without having to reset for every operation? I would like to just push the button and have it either open or close. But, I must do a reset first. And, most of the time I have to point it just right.
    CHARLES -- alpine, CA   7/30/2007
I would have preferred that the item be controlled by my other X-10 remote instead of having to buy a dedicated one just for this. Your CS told me I could, but when I spoke with TS to find out why I couldn't get it to work I found I had to buy a duplicat control and the remote. I now have an extra part I don't need. TS was super good, though and really helped straighten out what was wrong. Hats off to him. I like dealing with Smarthome because TS is always helpful and no one tries to make the customer feel ignorant.
    HERBERT -- chicago, IL   7/20/2007
It wasn't exactly what I thought it would be, and it turns out I cannot use it with my X-10 system to control the drapes. (The drapes are programmed with X-10 to open and close at certain times.) It is not compatible with the system. I will keep it as I'll probably find some other use for it in the future.
    DON -- honolulu, HI   5/23/2007
some time we forget to turn remote off after using, other than that it works ok.
    ROBERT -- memphis, TN   3/8/2007
    Just as advertised, works fine.
PAULA VAN -- culver city, CA   3/7/2007
    works fine
    ULRICH -- germantown, WI   2/21/2007

DR. ROGER -- tucson, AZ   2/18/2007
