The DIG Irrigation 2008i Battery Powered Single Station Sprinkler Timer is a simple and effective way to manage your irrigation. As a single station, it can manage the on/off cycle for one sprinkler (or one group of sprinklers) and is typically used for a residential or a light commercial application. The battery powered design makes it versatile for installation, as there is no outlet to find or difficult wiring involved. Following the owner's manual, connect the timer (and valve) to your sprinkler pipe, making sure to wrap all fittings with Teflon tape (do not use pipe cement on the valve as this will damage the valve and void the warranty). Once the timer and valve have been connected, insert the battery and start programming your timer. The large LCD screen and buttons will make setting a weekly irrigation schedule or a cyclical irrigation program a breeze. And if you forget to program it, an emergency backup program will kick in, activating the timer for five minutes every 24 hours if no buttons are pressed after battery installation. You can even do a manual sprinkler run that can be started at any time, and then proceed back to the normal programming. DIG timers can be programmed in the comfort of your home or office and installed at a later date. No water pressure is required. The anti-siphon valve prevents irrigation water from re-entering the water source, which is especially important when automatically applying fertilizer through a filter. This product requires the use of one 9-Volt battery sold separately.
