Essential Info
Are you tired of wasting your hard earned money purchasing plants that get sick or die for no apparent reason? The EasyBloom Plant Sensor from PlantSense takes the guesswork out of growing a perfect garden. EasyBloom features an in-ground sensor that can analyze soil and environmental conditions in the exact location of your plants; including sunlight, temperature, humidity, soil moisture and drainage. You can then input the sensor to an available USB port on your computer and based on the information received, recommendations are made listing plants that are sure to flourish. You can even search recommendations by specifying desired bloom color or season, plant height, drought tolerant, and attracts butterflies to name a few. The EasyBloom Plant Sensor is like having your own personal team of botanists on-call around the clock, a perfect solution for novice to experienced gardeners alike. You'll be the "green thumb" of your neighborhood, spending far less time tending to your garden and a lot more time enjoying it. EasyBloom is currently Windows compatible and will be Mac compatible starting in January of 2009.

How the PlantSense USB EasyBloom Plant Sensor & Environment Evaluator Works- Start by plugging the sensor into an available USB port on your computer. You will automatically be taken to your own web portal where you can put the sensor into recommendation mode or monitor mode.
- Then remove the sensor from your computer USB port and place it in an area where you would like to grow or monitor a plant. Make sure it is adjacent to the area in which the plant is going to be placed or to the existing plant that needs monitoring.
- After 24 hours of letting the sensor collect a "plant's eye view" of the soil, it can be removed and plugged back into the USB port of your computer; data will automatically be uploaded to the PlantSense website. Analysis of the soil will provide information that will then recommend a plant or diagnose problems in the soil for an existing plant.
- In recommendation mode, the Plantsense website will offer a list of plants that will thrive in that location based on the soil analysis.
- In monitoring mode, the Plantsense website will let you know the status of an existing plant and supply recommendations using visual cues on how to improve hte plants condition.
Fact: In 2007, Americans spent $35 billion on lawn and garden products, the largest amount since 2002, according to the National Gardening Association. But the Plant Institute of America says a third of all plants die within their first year of purchase.
