Essential Info

If you already own a Dakota Alert System or EZIO Receiver, protect your property from costly water damage by installing this wireless flood and leak sensor near water pipes in places like basements, laundry rooms and kitchens.

The sensor is comprised of a small sensor mounted where you need to detect a water leak and a transmitter that mounts to the wall and is powered by a single 9V battery (sold separately). The sensor can detect water more than 1/16" deep. The transmitter has a range of up to 3,000ft (line of sight). They are connected to each other by way of a 6ft cable.

Relatively expensive. I found reception to be spotty, and then the EZSnsRF failed, rendering the Dakota transmitters useless. The other problem is that when the contact closes, the transmitter only sends one unacknowledged signal. Given spotty reception, the flood could be missed. I instead am using a TriggerLinks with a simplehomenet EZsnsLQD flood detector the same one supplied with the EZLqd. The triggerlink suffers from the same single event problem. Where an outlet is avaliable, I use an IOlink with the EZSnsLQD, as they can be polled repeatedly.

The unit works as expected. I am using it to trigger the ISY-99 to turn off the AC if the leak sensor is detecting water from the condensation pan.
