Integrate sprinkler or watering system control into your UPB home automation system with the UPB Rain8, a full-featured, 8-zone irrigation controller that accepts and reacts to standard UPB commands. This opens up the world of sprinkler and irrigation system control to anyone with UPB timers, remote controls, even over-the-Internet control using PC-based automation software. Easy SetupSetup is easy. All you have to do is momentarily connect the Rain8 to your PC's serial port to assign the UPB address and program cycle durations for each sprinkler zone. Once the UPB address and zone cycle durations have been set, the UPB Rain8 can be disconnected from the PC and will respond to UPB signals just like any other UPB-connected device (requires HAI UPB Powerline Interface Module or the Simply Automated Computer UPB Interface Module, sold separately). The UPB Rain8 does not have to be connected to a PC for everyday operation. Note: This unit is not compatible with the HAI G2 PIM.

Trigger Either of Two Distinct Programs
Two distinct programs can be configured, each with its own address - a handy feature if you have different winter and summer watering needs, or night and day watering. For the ultimate in flexibility, you can even assign a unique device code to each sprinkler zone, and water only the zones you want for as long as you want.
Installation Tips
The UPB Rain8 is designed for installation in a water-protected location or in a weatherproof enclosure. The sprinkler wiring termination block easily separates from the main UPB Rain8 controller, allowing you to easily modify UPB Rain8 programming without tedious rewiring. Multiple UPB Rain8 modules can be networked together, requiring only one AC transformer and PLC interface.
Requires a Powerline Interface ModuleThe UPB Rain8 needs an interface to send its signals into your power lines. Use the HAI UPB Powerline Interface Module or the Simply Automated Computer UPB Interface Module.
