The unit is completely independent and safe; no faucet or electrical connection needed. Equipped with an electronic timer and bi-stable solenoid valve, the Oasis® guarantees calibrated water delivery to your plants for the entire program. 4 independent watering programs: 10-20-30-40 days can be selected by simply turning the dial to water a maximum of 20 plants. LED indicator located on programming panel indicates when unit is in use or when battery I low. Operates on one 9v battery (not included).

Seems to be as advertised and works fine. I was hoping that it had a setting that would enable watering every 3 days or weekly. Most indoor plants should NOT be watered daily, much less twice daily. Two plants died during my first trip away from home due to too much water.

I ordered this to water some outdoor potted plants while on vacation. I live in AZ and it was 105+ while we were away on vacation. Although the product does state it is not for outdoor use, I placed it in a shaded area and moved my plants to the unit and it worked just fine. I would not use in direct sunlight. I was not sure if it would water enough to keep things alive in our summer heat. I was gone for 8 days and returned to plants that looked the same as when i left. All in all easy setup and am very satisfied. Was able to keep things alive and not trouble anyone to come by and water everyday.

Returned - return was smooth and simple with SmartHome. Would never completely "shut off", eventually causing flooding and prematurely exhausting tank. Not reliable enough to put indoors.

Simple device. Easy to use. I'm surprised in this age of electronics that it has only one LED that tells you it's working and no other displays or controls. Pricey for what little there is to the device, but if you need your plants watered while away and you don't want to need an AC outlet and you want to keep it simple, this is the ticket.

Your product is used at a week-end house in the Texas Hill Country and works very well during the 10 - 15 day periods we are not there to maintain various plants. The product quality and design are very good. It does everything you advertised it would do.

The Oasis plant watering system did not work. The light on the timer would flash and I could here the solinoid actuate , but no water would come out. I suspect that the valve is stuck closed. Ended up going to Home Depot and purchacing a timer and brass fittings and a 7 gallon water can. i did use the tubes and drippers that came with the Oasis.
