As energy costs rise, keeping heating and cooling bills down becomes more of a challenge. One way to conserve is by installing electronic duct dampers. Dampers allow you to shut off airflow to unoccupied or unused rooms, limiting the flow of heated or cooled air to the areas that really need it. The increased airflow changes the temperature in the occupied areas more quickly, providing for shorter run times for your heating/cooling system. A 24V AC power supply is sold separately and is required for use in a single-zone system. Due to excessive weight, Smarthome will add a heavy-item shipping charge to this item. Damper Works Automatically When PoweredApply power to this damper and it opens, allowing free airflow. Remove power and a spring returns the damper to its original position. If you'll be using this damper with a multi-zone control panel, simply run 2-conductor wire (18-22-gauge) from the control panel to the damper. The zone controller will open or close the damper to maintain the desired temperature. Control the damper manually (in single-zone system) by using a switch to apply or remove power to the damper.
Ultra-Secure Seal Eliminates Air LeakageThe 14 Inch Diameter Normally Closed Damper features a specially designed solid positive seal. This eliminates air leakage, which can reduce efficiency and cause "wind" noise in the system. This duct damper is designed for virtually silent operation.
Additional Sizes AvailableThis Normally Closed Damper is also available in 6-inch, 8-inch, 10-inch, 12-inch, and 16-inch diameters. A normally open 14-inch diameter damper is also available.
