If you are already using or plan to purchase the Honeywell Premium Portable Wireless Door Chime, you may want to consider this product as an accessory. Works with any Honeywell door chime marked as "compatibility E." The Honeywell Wireless Battery Powered Motion Sensor is a perfect security add-on that will trigger your chime module to alert you when movement has been detected. It can be used indoors to monitor specific rooms; alternatively, this product has been built to withstand harsh environmental elements making it suitable for the outdoors. Best of all, there are no wires to run or professional installation required, all communication is via wireless radio frequency (RF) communication. With a broad 140° adjustable angle of detection, extended motion sensing range of up to 40 feet and a dusk/dawn sensor, this reliable, simple addition can add both peace of mind and convenience to your home. Settings and Adjustments
A built in Dusk/Dawn sensor can be adjusted to prevent movement from activating light during daylight or alternatively if working with a Chime it will prevent movement activating the Chime during the night.
To prevent movement detection in unwanted areas or to shield off shrubs etc. which can cause false activation in the wind. The detection area may be reduced by masking off sections of the lens using either the window mask curtain provided or electrical insulation tape.
Important Note:
The quoted range of the system is measured in ideal conditions. Any barrier (e.g. walls/ceilings aluminum reinforced UPVC windows and metallic parts of house structures etc.) between the detector and receiver will reduce the effective radio range by an amount dependant upon the construction of and number of barriers between the detector and receiver. In extreme cases where metal barriers are involved then it is possible for the signal to be blocked out completely. While the majority of installations are not adversely affected, you may have to experiment a little to discover the best location for your detector and Receiver Unit.
