Control your home's temperature simply by speaking! Every button talks on the Kelvin Voice Activated Talking Programmable Thermostat, so setting up and adjusting this thermostat is always clear. You can even control the thermostat using just your voice. If you have a loved one who is visually impaired, disabled, elderly or otherwise has difficulty using a standard thermostat, the Kelvin Talking Thermostat is a small investment that can enhance their quality of life and increase independence.

Advanced speech recognition technology allows you to raise and lower the temperature simply by using voice commands, which can be initiated by pressing the large tactile buttons or by clapping your hands. Set up to four different temperature changes per day: morning, day, evening, and night. The temperature will adjust automatically, so you won't waste energy when it's not needed. You can set different time and temperature profiles for each day of the week. The Kelvin Talking Thermostat can also be specially programmed for weekends and vacations. You can also view time, temperature, day of the week and other information and visually confirm the voice-activated commands on the easy-to-read LCD screen.

This thermostat is powered through your HVAC wiring and by four AA batteries.

    It works great if you are blind. You can talk to it and change the temperature. It also reads out the current temperature. This is our second one as our kids beat up on the first one. We put a thermostat guard around this one.

    Purchased for my elderly Mom who is blind. Had problems with the clapping and voice activation features. Older people cannot clap their hands loud enough to activate it and the timing aspect of voice commands was confusing for her. The batteries ran down in 3 days. Other sounds in the house must have been activating it. Once I disabled the voice activation features all is well and she is happy with the unit. Being able to accurately set her home temperature now has been huge. Shipping to Canada was quick and effortless.

    So-far-so-good. It seems to be very sensative. Any loud noise sets it off. Our hallway where we installed the thermostat has very squeaky floors. After the thermostat is activated, it gives the time, room temp and the thermostat temp setting. If you walk away and the floor creaks it lowers the temp setting with every step you take. We learned to wait for the beep before we walk away. It was easy to install and to set up. No complaints at this time.

    just got 1, i love it. now my wife asks me to set the temp. totally blind, and it is easy to set temp, day, time, etc. voice could be a little better, but it is grate compared to silent digital lights.

    I really enjoyed the concept of this item. This product clas it was meant for elderly people so I thought this would be the perfect gift for my grandma. However this item barely responds to clapping, it does not have a backlit screen and the voice sounds like the speakers are being overpowered so it gets really staticie and sometimes it will automatically turn on and adjust temp if you have noise in the room.

    Customer could not work the stat.. I had to replace it with another thermostat. This one doesn't have an auto switch over. Customer could not yell loud enough to get it to work

    I'm a Smarthome customer for many years and love the company. Unfortunately, this product is flawed and needs to be removed from the offering. I installed it for my mother who is legally blind. Because one cannot turn off the programming mode, the product is useless for someone visually impaired. I contacted tech service and they contacted the manufacturer but to no avail. Because the product was used at that point I was unable to receive a refund. It went to the trash. There is another talking thermostat on the market I purchased and it works well. But it, not this product. VEP

    This thermostat works as advertised and is well made. All parts to install it are included. It takes a little study to learn how to program it but is very easy once you become familiar with it.

    works very well for person with limited site two things I would change color buttons red for raise and blue for lower the switch for heat or air is opposite of raise and lower they should reflect each other

    Product works great! Instructions are horrible and misleading. Unit came with all types of limiters, and extra connectors stating they MUST be installed. My son is an electrician and stated the instructions were the equivalent of twisting all the wires together and plugging into a socket. In the end, we installed the unit in the default configuration it came in WITHOUT using any of the extra resistors or limiters. It has worked flawlessly. All the extra parts and instructions are VERY confusing and MISLEADING. Except for the poor instructions I would have rated the unit 5 stars. My wife is visually impaired and this unit is a blessing!
