Maintaining multiple thermostats in a home or building can be difficult, so linking them to a central location solves numerous problems. The HVAC Distribution Panel for the Communicating Thermostat System Controller is a switch-controlled communication bus that can be wired to eight Aprilaire Communicating Thermostats (sold separately). This allows thermostat communication (transmit, receive or both) to be turned on and off at one convenient location, which in turn simplifies installation and troubleshooting. Each thermostat station on the distribution panel has an on/off switch for power. This allows isolation of any one thermostat to simplify troubleshooting. The HVAC Distribution Panel is powered by the Aprilaire Power Transformer, sold separately.

Up to 64 uniquely addressed thermostats may reside on the same thermostat network; each HVAC Distribution Panel will control up to eight. Each thermostat connects to the HVAC Distribution Panel using cat. 5 4-pair twisted cable. The panel will also connect to the System Controller for Communicating Thermostat (sold separately) using cat. 5 wire, thus allowing you to control your system over your computer. Wiring is sold separately. The simple-to-use yet powerful System Controller provides centralized control of all of the building's thermostats with an intuitive graphics-based software package that can be accessed through any standard computer and web browser.
Individual Communicating Thermostats can be placed in each zone to control single or multi-stage heating/cooling or heat-pump HVAC system. The Distribution Panel is used as a hub to tie all the thermostats together and provide power to each thermostat. Mount the Aprilaire HVAC Distribution Panel indoors in an accessible location such as a closet or utility room, using the included mounting materials.
