Essential Info

The Venstar ACC0436 Thermostat Two-Wire Heat-Only Kit is an accessory for use with a Venstar Wireless Thermosta Receiver with one or more Venstar Wireless Thermostat Senders, each sold separately. The Thermostat Two-Wire Heat Only Kit can start, or expand, a wireless system to allow for control of most two-wire heat-only devices. The purpose of this product is to allow for remote control of your furnace, with the convenience of being able to place the receiver near it without having to run wires. It includes a 24V plug-in transformer and two-wire relay.

    Worked just like it should have. The only complaint I would have is that it would have stated on the wireless thermostat site that we bought from Smarthome: You might like to add this (two wire or 3 wire or 10 wire to your cart! Or others who have bought this wireless thermostat also looked at the two wire heat only kit!) That way we would have only had to pay shipping once. Our mistake, but it would have put the bug in your ear that you might have needed more than just the main piece to put one in.

    Worked to tie an Indigo controlled Venstar 1700 to my old, two-wire gas boiler heating system. Previous tstat was a battery model as the heating system did not supply the required electric. This kit provided the wall-wart to power the Venstar 1700 and a relay that went inline to control the boiler.

    Works as advertised. Could be smaller. Of course, one could argue that it shouldn't even be necessary: the capability should have been built into the thermostat from the beginning (by Venstar).
