Works with my home theater Harmony remote control for the living room, and I added an IR extender system to it so I could control the house temperature remotely from the bedroom using the remote control that comes with the kit. For heating, pushing the 'up' key once immediately jumps the setpoint to one or two degrees above the current temperature reading, instead of just bumping up the setpoint by one degree. This is useful for overriding a nighttime temp setback and you want to turn the heat on to its normal levels, but you don't know how far you need to push the temperature up to do so. The thermostat figures that out automatically with one button push on the remote. There's also on/off buttons for just the fan on the remote next to the up/down heat buttons, which I don't find useful at all and frequently activate by mistake intead of the buttons for the heat in the dark. There's also a master system on/off button which is pretty useless on a remote and could be hit accidentally and you'd never realize the heat was off until it started to get really cold. For those design flaws I take off two stars.
