This unit works great with the Insteon controller. I had a unit fail after 3 months, second unit is fine. Think there are some software revisions along the way. This is installed at a seasonal home and is great to monitor the temp at any time remotely - as well as heat it up or cool it down before we arrive.

This unitrequires a five wire hookup. Any A/c qualifed person can make this connection. Together with the telephone controller, this is the best product on the market.

I bought three of these along with three Insteon adapters. A few segments on one of the LCD displays did not light up. I contacted Smarthome and they promptly replaced it. No hassle at all. I have the ISY home automation controller and I use programs in the ISY to raise and lower the temperature. There is no reason to buy the 7 day unit if you are using the ISY. The clock has no battery back-up so if power goes out the time is lost. But because I control my thermostats via the ISY this is not an issue for me. The ISY has battery back up. I don't think I would recommend this thermostat if you need to rely on the thermostats' internal clock to raise and lower your temperature, especially if you live in an area where power outages are common. The description says something like the "red " button raises the temperature and the "blue" button lowers the temperature. The "red" button is more like pink than red and the blue button is a light blue. At first this kind of bothered me but I'm used to it now. A separate reddish-orange LED lights up when the thermostat calls for heat. The LED is very easy to see, thus it is easy to see when the thermostat is calling for heat.

works great but not a direct replacement - needs seperate 24 power source and relays installed for standard A/C.

The t-stat was easy to use and program. When it came to wiring it was not so easy, the directions should tell you that on a 2 wire system you will need to have a third wire for a common which will give you the power to the t-stat.

Works well with the telephone controller.

Thermostat was exactly what i needed. Thanks for the quick support when i asked a question about installation.

This was installed on a heatpump with electric heat backup. Installation was fairly complicated for general population not in heating profession, but was installed fairly easily. Works excellant after installation.

Item worked fine for two uses only. The food probe failed internaly, and had to return it to the manufacturer for a replacement.
