    I have 3 roof top central air units. Two of them have been converted to these remote control thermostat / receiver systems about 4 and 2 years ago. In one case the conventional thermostat was where I wanted to mount a 54" HD TV. Did not have to rewire and move the thermostat because I converted it to the remote receiver system. Anyway they work great and I will install the 3rd one now. When they are on sale, it is a good deal.

    This item worked very well and is doing just what I wanted it to do. The instructions could be more clear in two areas: 1) showing how to take off the top cover from the backplate and 2) How to determine if you use the "O" or "B" setting on the dip switches when you have a heat pump. (If you have an orange wire going to the corresponding terminal on the old (existing) thermostat then it is >99% certain you use the "O" setting.

    The second installation took litterally about 5 minutes and i had my dual zone system up and running. if you have a cold upstairs and only one thermostat on the main floor, then i would highly recomend upgrading to a multi thermostat system.

    My Heater is also a Bryant Two stage unit. The wiring diagram calls for 7 wires to connect to the ventstar reciever. The wiring scheme is in the installation manual. It is actually very easy to wire up.

    I BOUGHT THIS UNIT FOR USE WITH A BRYANT TWO STAGE GAS HEATER. DUE TO THE LACK OF SUPPORTING INFORMATION ON THE WEB OR WITH THE UNIT, I WAS UNABLE TO GET THIS CONTROL TO WORK IN THE TWO STAGE MODE.
