The Aprilaire 8600 Universal Touch Screen Thermostat features a high contrast, intuitive LCD touch screen user interface that makes for super-easy programming. The thermostat works for nearly every home HVAC application, with installation and use truly homeowner friendly. The huge 10.3 square inch LCD touch screen has an easy to read bright backlit display which can also be set to remain on at a low intensity. With an exclusive "message center" there are no codes to remember and no need to reference the manual, making programming and set up effortless. The message center provides valuable feedback and instructions to the homeowner like equipment status, stage settings and service reminders to help you keep your HVAC system running as efficiently as possible. Besides climate control, the 8600 boasts features that have a secondary purpose such as air filtration. The "Fan Circulate" mode will eliminate hot and cold spots while filtering the air as it cycles through your HVAC system. Air is moved in and out of the HVAC system so efficiently it is able to maintain a consistent temperature throughout the home. This product features a dual power supply option: hardwired 24VAC powered or via two AA batteries (included); when both the sources are available, battery will be used as back up power. If your home requires multiple thermostats networked together, look at the Universal Communicating Touchscreen Thermostat, which also adds humidity control.
