Aprilaire's 8053 Surface Mount Temperature Sensor provides a great upgrade for your Aprilaire 8870 Communicating Thermostat or Aprilaire 8570 Programmable Thermostat, each sold separately. The Temperature Sensor can be mounted on a wall and has a small plastic cover that conceals the sensor. Communication is made simple as it requires only two wires for connection. This makes it ideal for use in an area where there are limited existing wires, so that that the thermostat can be mounted in a location where additional wiring can be readily added. Once installed, the data collected by this sensor will allow you to have greater flexibility with the programming of your thermostat. Monitoring additional zones and overriding local settings is just a couple examples of how you will increase control over your in-home climate. This sensor is intended for indoor applications and features a paintable surface so it can blend into any home decor without being noticed.

Please note: When used with the Aprilaire 8570, the sensor wires directly to the thermostat. When used with the Aprilaire 8870, the sensor must be wired to an Aprilaire 8061 Remote Temperature Sensor Module or 8062.
