Essential Info
The Aprilaire 8811 Protocol Adapter acts as a translator for the communication process for the Aprilaire 8870 Communicating Thermostat. The adapter takes the built-in RS-485 communications from the Communicating Thermostat and translates that into long distance RS-232 Communication for use with a PC, Host Computer, or automation controllers such as the Elk M1 Gold. It is recommended to use an Aprilaire 8818 Distribution Panel when connecting more than one 8870 Communicating Thermostat.
