Essential Info

The DuctStat automatically turns an attached In-Line Duct Fan (sold separately) on when the flow of heated air is sensed (in heat mode) or the flow of cold air is sensed (in cool mode). The device automatically turns the duct booster off when the flow of air stops. Installing on the outside of the duct downstream of the duct booster, the DuctStat must be manually switched between heat/cool modes in the winter and in the summer.

Doesn't have a finer temp adjustment. I'm using it in an AV cabinet and it either kicks on at 75 or 83.
JAMES -- west warwick, RI   1/7/2011
    great
WENDY -- san francisco, CA   12/9/2010

MO INVESTMENTS -- vancouver, BC   10/8/2010
Great product, great value for the money. Works very well with the 4-inch inline duct booster fan.
    JUDITH -- fairbanks, AK   10/1/2010
Good value, easy to install, does exactly what I needed. The whole transaction was simple, quick, and very satisfactory. I have a pet gripe about "mail-order" companies who gouge us Alaskan residents on shipping (postage is the same from anywhere in US to Alaska as it is to California or any other US state but some companies charge as much as 6 times the actual cost, as though shipping to Alaska is a special rate or a hassle). SmartHome doesn't do this and I will continue to buy from them in the future in part because of this.
DOMINIC LEE -- spokane, WA   8/16/2010
I had to solder a part back on the circuit board before I could use the thing. I would give 4-5 stars if it wasn't for that.
    JORDAN -- hinsdale, IL   7/16/2010
Perhaps wishful thinking on my part. Thought it might work in an attic for a small fan. Will not work in attics. - too hot. It does say that on the box; though not explicitly on the website. I will find a use for it sooner or later.
    GENE -- flagstaff, AZ   6/17/2010
Simple installation, set it and forget it. Works just the way it's supposed to!
DALE A -- west palm beach, FL   6/14/2010
    Works just fine
    MARK -- huntsville, AL   3/23/2010
Works pretty well. though not as good as I expected. It seems to stay on too long but I'm using it as a media closet cooler instead of a "true" duct fan.
    BARRY C -- leominster, MA   3/4/2010
It does not work. Tried numerous settings and relocated on the duct.
SCOTT -- honeoye falls, NY   2/15/2010
Works essentially as advertised. Requires some time to set up optimum on/off settings, but mostly as stated in directions. I would have a preferred an option for hard wiring, instead of standard 3 prong plugs in and out.
    CHRIS -- medford, OR   2/5/2010
This device works just fine. It sits on a table near a kerosene heater to turn on two circulating fans. I just wish the sensor, (thermister), was seperate from the main unit. Maybe on an eight or ten foot cord for convenience. It's an easy modification. I would recommend this inexpensive unit to anyone who needs a portable thermostat.
    JORGE -- flagstaff, AZ   1/14/2010
The product works the way it's described. You can adjust the thermostat and install the device pretty easy.
    MEL -- elnora, AB   1/6/2010
    very satisfied
MATT -- league city, TX   12/17/2009
Controller works well for heating, don't expect it to turn on and off in line with the furnace, it has to sense a temp change and when the furnace turns off, the ducts are still warm for a while so the fan runs for a bit then shuts off. Same thing for turning back on, has to wait until the duct is warm and the air heats up.
    GREGORY -- randolph, NJ   11/19/2009
very convenient to find thermostat and booster fan in same place at a competitive price
    RON -- jenison, MI   9/28/2009
It was very easy to install and was a much better option than direct wiring the duct fan to the furnance fan for us. You do need to have an electrical outlet within reach of the unit. It seems to work great. The real test for us will be when we turn the heat on here in Michigan.
ABRAHAM -- pembroke park, FL   9/26/2009
delivery was very fast and just installed, work as indicated,
