Overview

  • Installs in metal or flexible ducts
  • Boost airflow to selected areas
  • Use as a super-quiet bathroom exhaust fan
  • Use to assist ventilation
  • 500 cubic ft. maximum air flow per minute

Essential Info

Imagine being able to walk into a room, press a button and have the airflow only to that room immediately boosted by up to 80 percent, quietly. Increase ventilation to selected areas when guests are over, equalize temperatures in rooms that are too hot or too cold, or build your own power-circulated HVAC system. Installation is easy: Simply cut the flexible or rigid duct where you want the fan installed, insert the duct, and then seal the duct with a nylon strap (for flexible ducts) or sheet metal screws (for rigid ducts).

This 8-Inch In-Line Duct Fan uses high-performance balanced polycorbonate fan blades, and the fan comes with approximately 6-inch wire leads.

In-Line Duct Fans can be wired directly to a wall switch for manual control or to an HVAC system (an optional 110V relay may be required). To turn on the duct fan automatically only when there is air flow, just add the optional #3018 DuctStat Duct Fan Thermostat. The DuctStat requires that the duct fan have a 110V plug end.

For X10 control, use a #2002SHL ApplianceLinc Module (plug-in) or #2250 Leviton Fixture Relay Module (in-line wiring) to obtain remote X10 control of the booster.

Just installed it and it significantly increased air flow. Too early to give it 5 stars but it might turn out to be!
    MARION -- edinburg, TX   4/16/2011
Works as expected. Properly mounted it is quiet. I used 2 fans side by side in rectangular duct for 550 sq ft room. It made a diffrence.
    RICHARD -- duluth, GA   2/5/2011
the cfm was not enough to do the job so i am going to use them on another application ...but the airflow is not 500 cfm ...maybe free airflow but not in the application.

    CHRIS M -- hurst, TX   10/2/2010
It was too small for my application.. The company promptly processed it back into their system and gave me no difficulty getting an RMA order or giving credit.
    TOM -- jasper, GA   8/13/2010
    Well built. Operates as advertised.
    LEON -- syracuse, MO   7/11/2010
I installed one of the two booster fans in a attempt to move heat from a outside wood furnace. The fan worked for approx. 15 minutes. It stopped and would not run again. I installed the second fan and it did the same thing. Now I have two fans that do not run. Are there any temperature ratings on these? Can I return?
    DOUGLAS W -- studio city, CA   6/24/2010
it does move air, but not at a huge rate. fairly loud, has several steady tones while operating.
    ROBERT -- keller, TX   6/12/2010
The unit was relatively easy to install and appears to be working very well. The companion piece, the inline lint trap, that I also installed in the wall behind the dryer was much more difficult to install because it was installed in existing construction and I lacked the appropriate tools. None the less, it also went in okay and is working fine.
    EARL -- patterson, CA   4/16/2010
We have a wood stove in the main room, which leaves the other two rooms much cooler. I put some 12" duct in the ceiling, hoping the ceiling fan would pump the hot air, but the fan just circulated the hot air in the room. With the 8" booster fans in the duct, I can leave the ceiling fan off, so the hot air rises from the stove. I now can pump nice warm air into the other rooms. Just wish that I had done this earlier as they work great. Earl Hiatt
    BARRY C -- leominster, MA   3/4/2010
Works as described. The electrical wiring could be longer.
    NATHAN -- vevay, IN   1/15/2010
Unit was excellent until it failed after 2 weeks of use. Easy return policy though.
    ROBERT -- mcmechen, WV   8/28/2009
The booster fan proved to be just what was needed to "boost" air conditioned air to a finished attic room. Easy to install and very quiet.
    CRAIG -- reno, NV   8/20/2009
    Great service, excellent product!
