Essential Info

Imagine being able to walk into a room, press a button and have the airflow only to that room immediately boosted by up to 80 percent, quietly. Increase ventilation to selected areas when guests are over, equalize temperatures in rooms that are too hot or too cold, or build your own power-circulated HVAC system. Installation is easy: Simply cut the flexible or rigid duct where you want the fan installed, insert the duct,and then seal the duct with a nylon strap (for flexible ducts) or sheet metal screws (for ridged ducts).

This 6-Inch In-Line Duct Fan uses high-performance balanced polycorbonate fan blades, and the fan comes with approximately 6-inch wire leads.

In-Line Duct Fans can be wired directly to a wall switch for manual control or to an HVAC system (an optional 110V relay may be required). To turn on the duct fan automatically only when there is air flow, just add the optional #3018 DuctStat Duct Fan Thermostat. The DuctStat requires that the duct fan have a 110V plug end.

For X10 control, use a #2002SHL ApplianceLinc Module (plug-in) or #2250 Leviton Fixture Relay Module (in-line wiring) to obtain remote X10 control of the booster.

This In-Line Duct Booster fan is relatively quiet and had no vibration or shaking. This fan is in operation for two weeks and makes a measureble difference in flow. Good product. Side Note: A fan of this type is sensitive to restrictions on both the inlet and outlet sides. This is due to the gap between the tips of the blades and the inner diameter of the duct. The way to correct this is to insert a hard plastic shroud-ring that has a tapered bore. This will adapt the inner ID of the cylindrical duct pipe to that of the outside of the fan blades.
