Essential Info

Imagine being able to walk into a room, press a button and have the airflow only to that room immediately boosted by up to 80 percent, quietly. Increase ventilation to selected areas when guests are over, equalize temperatures in rooms that are too hot or too cold, or build your own power-circulated HVAC system. Installation is easy: Simply cut the flexible or rigid duct where you want the fan installed, insert the duct,and then seal the duct with a nylon strap (for flexible ducts) or sheet metal screws (for rigid ducts).

This 6-Inch In-Line Duct Fan uses high-performance balanced polycorbonate fan blades, and the fan comes with approximately 6-inch wire leads.

    In-Line Duct Fans can be wired directly to a wall switch for manual control or to an HVAC system (an optional 110V relay may be required). To turn on the duct fan automatically only when there is air flow, just add the optional #3018 DuctStat Duct Fan Thermostat. The DuctStat requires that the duct fan have a 110V plug end.

    An easy installation within a flexible 6" supply. The amount of incerased flow was readily noticed and there is no noise from the fans (2 installed).

    Would rate 0 stars if it let me. The noise emitted from this rattles through the ducting and is unusable in my opinion. Had I not cut out a section of ducting to insert this I would have sent it back. The fan is installed about 12 feet back from my register feeding a cold bedroom and keeps us awake.

    Good value, easy to install, does exactly what I needed. The whole transaction was simple, quick, and very satisfactory. I have a pet gripe about "mail-order" companies who gouge us Alaskan residents on shipping (postage is the same from anywhere in US to Alaska as it is to California or any other US state but some companies charge as much as 6 times the actual cost, as though shipping to Alaska is a special rate or a hassle). SmartHome doesn't do this and I will continue to buy from them in the future in part because of this.

    Haven't installed this yet. Looks like it should do a good job. It's rated for higher temperature conditions. I'm an energy inspector and attic ventilation is my specialty. Fans like this one can be a great compromise when space and landlords are restrictive.

    Unit does send noise along solid metal ducting (But there is 0 noise with flexible ducting). Besides the noise, it raised the temp 5 degrees in the trouble room, and yet the rest of the rooms on this network seemed to remain the same temp. Great product as long as it will last. I also bought an 8" unit, and it so far has failed after 2 weeks of use.
