Essential Info

The RC840T Electric Heating Relay is designed to control a line voltage resistive load from a low voltage thermostat. The RC840T relay has a built-in 24 V transformer and is compatible with 3-wire (R,C,W) thermostats as well as 2-wire mechanical and battery-operated thermostats. The RC840T operates silently and can be installed in bedrooms, living rooms, or any other occupied area without disturbing occupants. On a call for heat, the relay is immediately activated; there is no delay. This increases temperature control and comfort.

Received quickly and in excellent condition. If you want to use a thermostat that goes on and off a lot (keeps temp more even) go for the solid state model. This one is recommended for thermostats that work at 15min periods, minimum. I believe it has only so many cycles before the contacts would fail (around 500k, I believe). Other than that, it works very quietly (slight click) and as advertised.

Ordered through amazon. This is hooked up to our 5KW garage heater and works great. I used an old programable thermostat and now have the ability to heat the garage at certain times of day. The heater came with a simple mechanical dial that would only allow one set temp. The unit comes with 18" long wires and a lock nut for a 1" nockout, making it easy to wire. The built in 24v power supply makes installation a snap, offering 2 or 3 wire thermostat options. This was the only device I could find that had the power supply built in.

exactly what I was looking for. The only downside is it's a sealed unit, not necessarily bad, I'm just a take-it-apart kind of guy.

Although the relay function works well, the 24vac power is very weak... Not enough to power my Proliphix thermostat. I ended up needing a separate power supply to power the thermostat.

The Aube Electric heating relay with the 24 volt transformer is a great product. They are compact, quiet, and easy to install. The red indicator light to show the relay is closed and the heater is active is a bonus. I recommend this product to anyone who wants to control there electric heaters with low voltage thermostats. And for electricians, this will save you money in installation and material costs. I rarely give a product 5 stars, but this relay is a slick device!

Simple 24 V relay to control a 110/240 VAC load. Needs an external 24 VAC supply. Used to control a ceiling fan.
