Essential Info
Upgrade your HVAC system with this programmable digital thermostat. Its large LCD display is easily read, even at night with its backlight. Comes pre-programmed with the Energy Star recommended heating and cooling times and temperatures, or enter up to four separate time and temperature programs per day for heating and for cooling, with one set for weekdays and a different set for weekends. Programming is simplified by the LUX SpeedDial ®. Pre-programmed 5-minute compressor protection prevents damage from cycling the compressor too quickly. Program the filter change interval to the number of days recommended by your system's manufacturer. When the system reaches the set number of days, an icon appears on the screen to remind you that it's time to clean or replace your filter. Two AA batteries either supply operating power or are backup power to maintain settings during power failures. Advanced features allow you to calibrate this thermostat so it agrees with another thermometer in the room. You may also adjust the variation in temperature allowed before turning on your heater of air conditioner. And you can set it to display in either degrees F or C and either 12- or 24-hour time format. You may program the thermostat to not allow any inputs from the keypad without a password, or you may choose inputs limited to only the "up" and "down" arrow keys, which can change the temperature setting only within a range you program. Works with 24VAC gas, oil, or electric heating and air conditioning systems; single-stage heat pumps; and 2-wire hydronic systems.
