Learn first hand how a real wind turbine works and the different applications it has with the WindPitch Turbine from Horizon. This working miniature wind turbine generates actual power through the rotation of its blades and the pitch (angle) they are set at. Add and remove blades from the WindPitch to examine the power output differences of more blades compared to that of fewer blades. The angle of the blades can also be altered to examine the differences blade angles can make in power output and determine what the optimal pitch of the blades is. Because this miniature wind turbine generates actual power children, adults and students can all have a hands-on learning experience to see how renewable, clean energy works by watching it light up such things as a light bulb. Seeing how this technology can work on a small-scale can help spark the imagination of all that it can do on a larger scale.
