Essential Info
If you have a Greyfox structured wiring system installed in your home, you can take advantage of its presence to distribute audio entertainment, in addition to phone, data, and security, over inexpensive cat. 5 wiring. The Cat. 5 Audio 1-Source, 4-Zone Kit contains almost everything you need to distribute audio to four separate rooms in your home; a Greyfox structured wiring enclosure and cat. 5 wiring are required for installation and are sold separately. Speakers will also be required for each location and are sold separately.

The Cat. 5 Audio Single-Source Input functions as the primary connection to the main audio source in the home, simply converting your stereo's RCA signal to cat. 5 for distributed audio. Connect your stereo system to the Cat. 5 Audio Single-Source Input, which delivers audio entertainment via inexpensive cat. 5 wiring to the Cat. 5 Audio Distribution Module that resides in your Greyfox structured wiring enclosure. Install a local volume control in each room that is to receive audio.
The Audio Distribution Module is mounted in the structured wiring enclosure and transmits audio, power and infrared data via cat. 5 wiring to up to four zones in your home. This module features a "cascade out" jack, which can be utilized to cascade up to five modules for audio distribution to up to 20 zones within your home. Additional Audio Distribution Modules are sold separately.
Four Cat. 5 Audio Amplified Volume Controls w/IR are included in the kit, each allowing manual as well as infrared control of stereo equipment from four different rooms. Compatible with most third-party and universal remote controls (sold separately), you can control this wallbox volume control without leaving your comfortable seat on the sofa. A dual LED indicates both IR activity and the status of the audio source. The Cat. 5 Audio Amplified Volume Control w/IR is also available to be purchased separately.
To override the whole-house audio system to listen to a different audio source in a single room, install the Cat. 5 Audio Local Source Input. One is included in this kit; additional Cat. 5 Audio Local Source Inputs are sold separately.
Connect IR emitters to your components connected to the Single-Source Input for remote control of each unit from anywhere in the house using an IR remote control. The included IR emitters mount directly onto the infrared sensor of the equipment to be controlled. A Dual IR Mouse Emitter is included with the Cat. 5 Audio 1-Source, 4-Zone Kit for IR control of two components; additional IR emitters are sold separately.
Wall plates are included for the volume controls and local source input. The Cat. 5 Audio 1-Source, 4-Zone Kit is powered by the included 24V transformer.
