The state of the art HM-601S-4G Slim 4GB Personal Audio Player by HiFiMan is the first portable MP3 player that uses non-oversampling. It employs a built-in audio headphone amplifier that is capable of driving virtually any high end headphone with a highly regarded sound signature. To drive both high and low impedance headphones, the HM-601 contains a Low/High Gain switch which is designed to be able to drive both high efficiency IEM's (In-ear monitors) and most full size headphones. This unit also contains a Digital to Analog Converter (DAC). A DAC is a device that converts a digital, compressed music file and converts it to an analog signal. The DAC takes the digital output of a compatible audio player and converts the signal into an analog line-level output that can be fed into an amplifier to drive speakers. The HM-601 can also work as an external USB DAC and amplifier for your components with USB output, such as home computers and laptops.
