Essential Info
Remember when Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) was the standard for residential telephone wiring? What about Cat. 3 wiring and the short-lived Cat. 4? Despite the enormous benefits of the current Cat. 5E standard, home networking experts are already pushing for Cat. 6, even Cat. 7. With so many technological advances in home networking, it's impossible to know what type of wiring you're going to need in 10 years. But the good news is that with a little extra planning today, you can make upgrading in the future easy thanks to the Resi-Gard Flexible Raceway System. This 2-Inch Flexible Raceway Tubing offers you maximum capacity for cables today and in the future so you won't have to tear up walls, floor, or ceilings to install new cable.

Future-Proof Your HouseThis 2-Inch Raceway Tubing is part of a system. Install this a la carte line of cable raceways and connectors just once, and whenever upgrades become necessary, you'll be able to remove outdated cable and replace it with new cable without tearing up the walls. Even if you don't plan on living in the same house 10 years from now, installing raceways today will increase your home's resale value, since future owners know they can add new cables without the expense of ripping up walls, digging through floors, or poking through ceilings. The 2" Raceway Tubing comes in 50' sections, complete with pre-installed pull tape to make pulling throughout your home easier. Join lengths of the 2-Inch Raceway Tubing with a 2-Inch Coupler for Flexible Raceway. Terminate the ends with a 2-Inch Terminal Adapter. Clamp the tubing to studs, joists, etc. as needed with 2-Inch Clamps For Flexible Raceway 5-pack.
Why Use Raceway? The Resi-Gard Flexible Raceway System does more than simplify future upgrades; it also protects your current wiring from damage and/or tampering. And just like blue tubing and boxes are known throughout the electrical industry as carrying high-voltage conductors, the raceway's bright orange color alerts everyone that it contains low-voltage wiring. In addition, the system has been fully tested to UL 2024, one of the strictest home wiring standards.
Just as there are several grades of residential cabling, we understand that there is not an all-encompassing Resi-Gard solution that covers every home. Raceways and fittings are available in three size groupings, with ¾", 1", or 2" diameter, depending on your home's needs. To help you decide what's best for your home, the raceway manufacturer has established three levels of futureproofing:
Level 1 Minimum At minimum, we recommend installing this 2-inch Resi-Gard Flexible Raceway from the distribution box area into the attic of your home, otherwise known as a vertical chase. These raceway chases create pathways inside the walls that allow you to easily distribute future cables. Depending on the size and construction of your home, more than one chase may be necessary.
Level 2 Moderate Moderate coverage includes a chase from the basement to the attic, and one Resi-Gard Flexible Raceway run to every location where you think you may want to upgrade your cable in the future, like every room where there's a computer with an Internet connection. Then, as technology changes, those cables already have the pathway in place so they can be easily upgraded. This 2-inch size is perfectly suited to install as any of the main arteries of this type of system.
Level 3 Maximum Maximum coverage includes Resi-Gard Flexible Raceway runs to every outlet. This ensures maximum upgrade ability, protection and identification. It doesn't matter what low-voltage application your outlet will encounter; the pathway will be in place to allow maximum flexibility. The smaller 3/4 inch or 1 inch Raceway Tubing would be perfect for these runs.
