    The Wireless Three-Way Light Switch is easy to install. The wall switch receiver replaces the light's original wall switch. The wireless wall switch transmitter, which sends RF signals to the wall switch receiver, can be mounted on any desired wall location using the included screws. Once it's all set up, you'll be able to control the lights from either switch.


    Want to use multiple units in the same house? No problem! Each switch can operate on one of four distinct channels. The system works with built-in incandescent lights up to 350 watts. Not for use with existing three-way circuits or fluorescent lights.

    Don't like small rocker switch, hard to use. Would prefer flip (up/down) switch like regular light switch. I was told by Smarthome staff that the both switches would fit in their own electrical box; this was not true, only the hard wired switch fits in an electrical box the wireless switch must be surface mounted. I did not realize that these switches can only be used with incandescent light bulbs and will not work for compact fluorescents.

    It mostly works. I had to spend a lot of time pulling out the old metal wall box to replace with a plastic "remodel" box to get it to work at all. The instructions said to ground it to the metal box but that didn't work. even now, about every 10 - 12 uses I have to hold down the remote button for about 5 seconds before it will turn the light On or off. The powered section is at the top of a single flight of stairs. The remote is attached to the wall at the bottom. Maybe this is because I have old Plaster walls so it's basically trying to transmit through rock. I guess having to hold it down is better than having to walk up/down in the dark.

    My first switch did not work, but Smarthome was very good about sending me another. The replacement switch, which is for a detached garage, worked great till I secured it in the outlet box. I live in a brick house and apparently the signal cannot penetrate brick from more than five feet away. I mounted the switch outside the outlet box and now the switch works great (but looks crappy).

    The wired switch works just fine, but the wireless switch only works one time out of five or so. Also randomly turns off, which seems to be due to interference from other wireless signals.

    I needed this item to control a bathroom vent fan. The online description was not adequate and did not explain that this was ONLY for light bulbs. After the item arrived, was installed and was found to not power on/off the fan circuit, more research showed I had wasted my time and money.

    Potential purchasers, please be aware of two important restrictions with this product: 1) This switch's design is not intended for anything other than incandescent bulbs. If your circuit is fluorescent-only (including the newer compact-fluorescent bulbs), it may not work properly. However, thanks to another review I saw, I learned that adding an incandescent bulb to a circuit that also has fluorescents may allow it to work. In my case, adding a minimum of a 40 watt incandescent did the trick. Lesser wattages did not work. 2) The switch may not work properly if the lighting circuit handles more than 300 watts.

    I was dissappointed with the functionality of this product. Advertised as being able to turn off the detached garage light with a range of 50 feet, my garage is only 32 feet away from the back door and I can only get the product to work by placing next to a windows that is about 25 feet away and even then the results are marginal. Sometimes the lights turn on, sometimes not. Seems to depend on weather or atmosphere. New battery did not help. Easy to install I will probably use this only inside the same room.
