Enjoy the added piece of mind that the INSTEON Hub with Garage Door Control and Status Kit provides. It will automatically let you know if your garage door was accidentally left open and allow you to remotely close it if necessary. The INSTEON Hub connects you to your home from any smartphone or tablet, so you can control INSTEON devices, including your garage door, while you're at home, at work and on vacation. How It Works
The included garage door sensor mounts to the garage door and is wired directly to the included I/O Linc sensor input. When the garage door is open, the garage door sensor triggers I/O Linc to send a signal out to the Hub which will then have a text/email sent to your Smarthpone or tablet and report its status to you. I/O Linc’s output relay wires to your garage door motor just like your existing garage door button, allowing you to then remotely operate your garage door. Please Note
: For garage door openers with an LCD screen, you will have to set the momentary duration to 0.5 seconds.Caution: You should only remotely close a garage door when you can be sure it is safe. Use of safety beam devices can further increase the safety of remote garage door control and are usually required by law. Smarthome is not responsible for any damage from proper or improper functioning of the device(s).
Ensure that it is safe to close your garage door by adding an IP Camera to your network. We recommend the INSTEON Wireless IP Camera
, sold separately, which can be accessed via your INSTEON for Hub app and provides you with 24/7 surveillance of your vehicles.
If you already have an INSTEON Hub, the Garage Door Control and Status Kit
is available separately.
