During normal use, the kit provides warm, energy efficient general lighting. When an emergency disrupts power, the adapter automatically switches to its emergency mode, providing immediate safety light. The emergency mode is powered by two rechargeable batteries, which will maintain light at the safety level for over 90 minutes. When power is restored, the adapter reverts back to normal light output and the batteries automatically recharge, ready for the next emergency.
The KeepSafe kit requires virtually no maintenance other than the typical bulb changes.
