Replace any wall switch with a timer switch, and you'll save energy by scheduling lights or appliances to run only for limited times. The Heavy-Duty Digital 7-Day Timer Switch can control loads of up to 15 amps, so not only is it powerful enough to control fluorescent or incandescent lights, it can even control appliances, such as your stereo or air conditioner. This easy-to-install switch converts any wall switch to a programmable timer that can set up to 42 weekly on/off settings, up to 6 per day. A wall plate is required and sold separately.

    This versatile timer replaces any standard indoor wall switch, controlling indoor or outdoor electrical loads up to 15 amps. Operate a light or appliance manually or program the device to turn on and off at any specific time and day of the week, at a specific time every day, at a specific time on weekdays or a specific time on weekends. You can even set the light to "random" operation for a lived-in look when you're away from home.

    The Heavy-Duty Digital 7-Day Timer Switch can replace any regular or 3-way light switch. Memory guard protects against power failure, and a battery is included for backup power.

    Love this timer switch. It was very easy to install and has worked perfectly so far. Automatic adjustment of on/off times as the length of daylight changes makes this a great solution. Saves energy, increases safety and makes my life easier... win, win and win! The only thing I would change is maybe a larger backlit display as it can be a little hard to see when setting up the program (you only need to do this once, so not a big problem).

    I bought 3. The product is great but they are old (2006) and all came with dead batteries. The batteries are 3 volt CR2 and expensive. With new batteries they functioned well.

    Works great. Easy to install. I like the manual override so I can turn the light on/off early but still have the timer. I was disappointed that the battery it shipped with was dead. This caused problems with the device setup...because the device displays the time but won't allow you to go into setup mode when the battery is low. Once I finally guessed that the battery was "almost dead" and ran to the store for a new battery the setup went just fine. I would like this device even better if the it could hook into the house AC power and use the battery as a backup power source. Hopefully the battery lasts a long time...because I don't like changing batteries on devices that are made to be "set it and forget it".

    Love this product! Extremely easy to install and program. Highly recommended to those who don't want to mess with turning on/off lights every day. (I.e. porch/patio lights, driveway lights. etc.)

    This switch is perfect for applications quiring variable programming times. One note: You have to be careful when programming. Wach program correcsponds to one on/off time NOT one pair of on/off times. Trivial but Ive been bit in the butt more than once.

    So far this timer has been great. Installation was easy and setting it was also easy. I especially enjoy the fact that it adjusts on and off times according to the season. I had an old timer that I had to always reset as sunrise and sunset times changed. This new one is much less problematic.

    Thank you for your inquiry. Installation was easy. It is set to go on at dusk and off at sunrise. My cocern is that it goes off and on at more than thirty minutes outside the time the newspaper gives for sunrise and dusk.

    Certain batches of this timer switch were RECALLED in 2009 by Intermatic. Our unit quit after working perfectly for 4 months. I will not be replacing this switch with another one since as one of the other reviewers so correctly commented, it's battery driven. The controls are battery operated. When the relatively expensive CR2 battery dies the unit does not work. As you can probably imagine, you also loose your programmed settings. You see many 5-star ratings from others, and that's what I would have thought for the first four months that I owned this unit, but not anymore. I would avoid this battery-operated switch or be prepared to infrequently replace batteries and re-program this unit. My local Home Depot stopped selling Intermatic timer switches after the 2009 recall problem. This is likely a model to be avoided.
