The first item that was sent didn't work and Smarthome customer service immediately sent an RMA and the item was returned. It took about a month for the replacement unit to be sent after 3 separate calls to customer service to inquire to the whereabouts of the item. I was told that there would be a tracking number emailed to me but I did not receive one. The replacement was eventually delivered. Because the first unit was bad I didn't waste time installing it but connected a utility lamp to do tests the replacement. The operation of the replacement was not optimum. It didn't work but trying different codes on both sender and receiver it eventually started to function. I installed the sensor about 5' away from the receiver. The operation is still iffy, the light turns on but it doesn’t always turn off, I have a 1min on time set. After about 15 min I press the button to turn off the light. It may work correctly 2 or 3 times and then it doesn’t turn off again. I will try to reposition the sensor maybe it will work better in a new location. Also the night only function doesn’t work because it turns on during the day when the sensor sees someone. This product did not meet my expectation. The manual for this product is also too general and it does not describe the parts that I have but a similar type. Overall this product could have been better. I will still buy product from Smarthome but I will not throw the packaging away until I have tested the item I purchased.
