I have owned both the plug-in lamp activator and two sets of motion lights for the front and back yards for about 12 yrs. I keep 3 of them focused on my driveway and cars. You get some false alerts from cats and assorted varmits, but overall Im very pleased. Very handy as a driveway alert for visitors. The sensors last about 5 yrs, everything else is still like new.

This is a replacement sensor. The first one worked fine for about nine months after that it kind of had a mind of its own. Only turning the light on every once and a while. After changing batteries and trying different settings, I thought I would a try new sensor. We'll see if this one lasts more thn nine months. In theory this thing is a great idea. I have porch lights that I like and don't want to replace with motion sensing fixtures.
