The INSTEON Home Theater Starter Kit has everything you need to create a wireless, automated lighting system in your home theater using your existing universal remote. The kit includes a LampLinc Dimmer to control any standard plug-in lamp, two SwitchLinc Dimmers to replace two existing light switches, and a KeypadLinc Dimmer which also replaces an existing switch and has enough buttons to allow control of up to four other INSTEON devices or scenes. The real beauty of this kit is the IRLinc Receiver, which is compatible with IR codes found in most universal remotes and is easy to program as other INSTEON devices, using simple Plug-n-Tap setup. Once your devices are installed and programmed, you can use your existing universal remote as you normally would to control home theater equipment such as your TV, stereo and cable/satellite TV. But now, you can also use that same remote to turn your lights on or off, dim your lights up and down, or create specialized lighting scenes for watching TV or movies. Easy Setup
The kit can be set up in minutes to control lighting in your home theater. Following the included instructions, simply plug in the Access Points, plug in the LampLinc and plug in a lamp to the LampLinc Dimmer, and replace your existing light switches with the new INSTEON KeypadLinc Dimmer and SwitchLinc Dimmer switches. The On and Off buttons on the KeypadLinc will control the light on the light switch you are replacing. Each of the other buttons can be set up to control the other lights which the SwitchLinc switches control, either individually or at the same time. Plug in the IRLinc and place the receiver where you would normally point your universal remote - IRLinc's talk-back LED allows you to identify easily which IR codes are compatible.
How it Works
KeypadLinc a sends signals over existing power line to an Access Point which then communicates that same signal via radio frequency (RF) to a second Access Point (coupling your electrical phases). Both Access Points distribute the original signal to the SwitchLinc On/Off switches and the LampLinc. IRLinc receives signals from your universal remote, and they distributed in exactly the same way. NOTE: At least two Access Points are recommended (and included in this kit) to ensure a reliable INSTEON network across common two-phase home wiring systems.

Expand this INSTEON Home Theater Starter Kit to use your universal remote to include control of other INSTEON dimmers and switches, wire-in / outlet modules, plug-in modules, low-voltage input / output control, and HVAC control to automate lighting and appliances, control the garage door, adjust the temperature and much more.
