The IRLinc - INSTEON Home Theater Lighting Control Kit has everything you need to create a wireless, automated lighting system in your home theater using your existing universal remote. The kit includes two SwitchLinc Dimmers to replace two existing light switches, a KeypadLinc Dimmer which also replaces an existing switch and has enough buttons to allow control of up to four other INSTEON devices or scenes, and two Dual-Band LampLinc Dimmers to control a pair of lamps; the LampLincs also double as a pair of Access Points - relaying RF and powerline signals to other INSTEON-compatible devices in the home. But the real beauty of this kit is the IRLinc Receiver, which is compatible with IR codes found in most universal remotes and is easy to program as other INSTEON devices, using simple Plug-n-Tap setup. Once your devices are installed and programmed, you can use your existing universal remote as you normally would to control home theater equipment such as your TV, stereo and cable/satellite TV. However, you can also use that same remote to turn your lights on or off, dim your lights up and down, or create specialized lighting scenes for watching TV or movies. Easy Setup
The kit can be set up in minutes to control lighting in your home theater. Following the included instructions, simply plug in the LampLincs Dimmers and plug in a lamp to each LampLinc, and replace your existing light switches with the new INSTEON KeypadLinc Dimmer and SwitchLinc Dimmer switches. The On and Off buttons on the KeypadLinc will control the light on the light switch you are replacing. Each of the other buttons can be set up to control the other lights which the SwitchLinc switches control, either individually or at the same time. Plug in the IRLinc and place the receiver where you would normally point your universal remote - IRLinc's talk-back LED allows you to identify easily which IR codes are compatible.
How it Works
KeypadLinc a sends signals over existing power lines to a LampLinc which then communicates that same signal via radio frequency (RF) to a second LampLinc (coupling your electrical phases). Both LampLincs distribute the original signal to each other, the SwitchLinc On/Off switches, the KeypadLinc and any other INSTEON device in your home. IRLinc receives signals from your universal remote, and they are distributed in exactly the same way.
Expandability
You can expand on this kit to control your entire home by adding INSTEON dimmers and switches, wire-in / outlet modules, plug-in modules, low-voltage input / output control, and HVAC control to automate lighting and appliances, control the garage door, adjust the temperature and much more. Install HouseLinc 2 - INSTEON Desktop Software on your computer to schedule INSTEON-compatible devices to turn on or off at any specific time or even at sunrise and sunset. Or try SmartLinc - INSTEON Central Controller, which can be linked to any web-enabled mobile device through Wi-Fi and cellular communication, allowing you to control or create timers for INSTEON devices or scenes from inside your home, in the backyard, at work, in the car or on vacation halfway around the world!
Please Note: If you don't want to use your existing universal remote, you can use the included credit card sized wireless remote or try one of our home theater remotes.
