The original INSTEON SwitchLinc Dimmer has been taken to a whole new level. Custom etching allows you to personalize your switches for whichever application you choose and makes it easy to identify quickly what each switch controls. It's perfect for guests in your home: now they can easily identify which switch controls which light(s) - no more guessing. It is also very useful for multi-gang switch locations: Custom-etched SwitchLincs will match custom-etched KeypadLincs so the switches will complement each other when placed side by side.

The SwitchLinc Dimmer allows you to fill your entire home with personalized mood lighting for any occasion. From pressing the paddle directly to dim the lights to having all of your lights turn off with the press of a single button, this dimmer can do it all. The INSTEON SwitchLinc Dimmer with etched paddle has 32 brightness levels, which makes setting your lights to the perfect intensity very easy. This dimmer switch can control incandescent bulbs, low-voltage halogen (e.g. track), and other low-voltage lights with magnetic or dimmable electronic transformers. If you need to control a fluorescent light fixture, or a non-dimmable appliance, try the INSTEON SwitchLinc Relay (Non-Dimming).

How many times have you jumped into bed and forgotten to turn the lights off? With the SwitchLinc dimmer's remote-control ability, you can have the convenience of adding a bedside controller to turn off your lights after you get into bed. Never come home to a dark house again: Install Smarthome Manager Essential's Timer Software on your computer to schedule any SwitchLinc V2 Dimmer or any INSTEON-compatible device to turn on or off at any specific time or even at sunrise and sunset. The SwitchLinc dimmer can control up to a 600-watt load. If a larger load is required, the INSTEON SwitchLinc Dimmer (High Wattage) is available.

Personalizing Laser-Etched SwitchLinc Paddles
Please follow these instructions to order your custom SwitchLinc paddle:

1. After submitting your order, follow the link at the top of the "thank you" page to go to the Customization Form.

2. After completing this form, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with your customization order details for your records.

3. Your custom paddle will be created and will arrive along with your SwitchLinc Dimmer via United States Postal Service within 10 to 14 business days.

4. Please note: Due to the nature of the customization of each product, all sales are final. Returns will only be accepted due to an error on the part of Smarthome.

Customization Process Explained: Laser etching your custom labels onto the custom SwitchLinc paddle requires a careful, detailed process to ensure your satisfaction. The paddle is secured on a template and placed into our laser etcher. Your designated text is copied directly from the invoice and inputted manually into the computer, and the laser then etches your paddle with your selected text. The template is removed from the laser etcher, and the paddle is prepped, painted, and set to dry. The paddle is polished to a high shine after any excess paint is removed. All custom SwitchLinc paddles go through a careful quality-control process before the paddles are packaged and shipped to your home.

Easy To Install
The SwitchLinc Dimmer is so easy to install and set up, and yet so affordable, you'll want to replace all your switches with SwitchLinc dimmers. Just remove the old switch, reattach the line, load, and ground wires with the addition of the neutral wire using the included wire nuts, and you're done. If this is your first INSTEON installation, the best way to purchase a SwitchLinc Dimmer is to buy the complete INSTEON Wire-in Dimmer Scene Lighting Starter Kit. It includes everything required to set up your INSTEON network, including two SwitchLinc Dimmers, a pair of INSTEON SignaLinc RF Signal Extenders to ensure INSTEON network reliability, and the desktop ControLinc. Beautiful, High-Quality Construction
Unlike other switches, the SwitchLinc Dimmer offers the natural feel of high-end dimmers. You'll love the crisp, tactile response with each touch instead of the mushy feeling of other brands. The SwitchLinc Dimmer is designed and manufactured to high-end specifications and goes through over 10 quality control tests before arriving at your doorstep. This modern Decora-style switch will blend with any room's design. White paddles are included with each SwitchLinc Dimmer, but additional paddle colors are available and sold separately. Choose the color that best suits your room's decor: Ivory, Almond, Black, Brown, or Gray. Two paddles are included in each color-change set. Don't forget to order a matching wall plate. If you prefer, you can purchase your SwitchLinc with the color already changed: The SwitchLinc Dimmer is available in Ivory, Almond, Black, Brown, and Gray. Please note: Custom Etching is not currrently available for colored SwitchLincs.

Brightness Levels
You can adjust the brightness level of the controlled lamp locally by pressing and holding the top or bottom of the SwitchLinc Dimmer. This is especially helpful when you want to create a theatrical experience when watching your favorite movie. You can also adjust the brightness remotely by using a controller that sends signals to brighten or dim the light. Now you won't even have to leave the comfort of your chaise lounge to dim the light: Your tabletop ControLinc can be placed within arm's reach and plugged into any outlet. When you turn on the SwitchLinc Dimmer, it automatically comes on to full brightness. Setting the preset on level will make the dimmer stop at your preferred choice of 32 brightness levels. With software you can control brightness levels in 1% increments for ultimate flexibility. This is a great feature for your home theater to improve TV viewing. An elegant brightness bar of 8 white LEDs indicates the current brightness of the lights being controlled. To match your room's décor, a SwitchLinc Light Pipe Kit, 4-Color is available with four colors: red, blue, amber, and green. Green, blue, frosted white, red, and amber LED light pipes are also available in 8-pair packs.

Adjustable Ramp Rate
You can adjust the speed at which the controlled light turns on or off, also known as the ramp rate. For example, you may want the light in the stairwell to turn on instantly so you can see where you're walking. Alternatively, you may want the light in the master bathroom to ramp up in a soft, gentle fashion so you're not blinded in the middle of the night. The ramp rate is adjustable between 0.1 seconds and 9 seconds if programmed locally. The ramp rate can extend up to 9 minutes (for a simulated sunrise or sunset) if programmed remotely. This is a great addition to your morning alarm, slowly turning the light on to help you wake up. If you have programmed a slow ramp rate and want to make the light come on instantly, simply double tap the paddle top. To turn the light off quickly, double tap the paddle bottom.

Create Multi-Way Circuits
The SwitchLinc Dimmer allows you to customize your lighting setup no matter how your house is wired. It's simple to create a 3-, 4-, or 5-way circuit. First replace all of the existing switches you want to include in the circuit with SwitchLinc Dimmers. The main dimmer must be connected to the standard wires, load, line, neutral, and ground. The secondary dimmers only need to be connected to line, neutral, and ground. No traveler wires are needed, so it is easy to place one of the dimmers wherever you need it. Cross-linking all of the companion dimmers to the master dimmer is the last step in the process. Now you have a flexible, fully functional multi-way circuit. Note: Any time the SwitchLinc Dimmers are placed direct adjacent to one another, you must subtract 200 watts of capacity from each dimmer. If three dimmers are adjacent to one another, then 400 watts must be subtracted from the capacity of the center dimmer. If more capacity is needed, start out with the higher-rated INSTEON SwitchLinc Dimmer (High Wattage).

Scene Lighting
Scenes allow you to control multiple lights, rooms or even the whole home with a single command. Because the SwitchLinc Dimmer can be a member of more than 400 scenes (i.e. "Movie Time," "Party," "Romance," etc.), you'll be able to launch various lighting scenarios with a single button press. These are elegant features usually found only in systems costing tens of thousands of dollars and requiring extensive rewiring of your home. All member lights can ramp to your independently desired brightness levels at your chosen ramp rate(s). So one set of lights can dim slowly, while another set turns off instantly, all controlled with one command from one button. If you want to control multiple scenes from one controller, upgrade to the INSTEON KeypadLinc Dimmer.

Compatibility
The SwitchLinc Dimmer is fully INSTEON compatible and X10 ready. Homeowners with existing X10 networks can easily migrate to an INSTEON network without having to discard all their existing X10 devices. X10 ready means that it can respond to X10 commands from an X10 controller and it can send X10 commands to X10 devices. Please note that INSTEON devices repeat INSTEON signals but not X10.

Slim Design
Similar dimmers are up to 50 percent deeper than the SwitchLinc Dimmer. Thanks to its slim design, it makes installation easy even in small junction boxes.

Non-Volatile Memory
All SwitchLinc Dimmer settings are stored in non-volatile memory and are not lost during power failures. Additionally, in the event of a power loss, the SwitchLinc Dimmer will return to its last brightness level when power is restored.
