Do you want to add INSTEON remote control to your existing motion sensor floodlights / security lights? In-LineLinc Relay w/ Sense allows you to do just that to existing floodlight motion sensors or any other 120V switching sensor. All you need to do is connect In-LineLinc Relay w/ Sense to your existing sensor, the existing light (or other load), and power. It is very useful for turning on all the exterior lights when one of the sensors detects motion. Or, be notified anywhere in the world when someone is in your yard, using the Telephone Alert Kit. Whether you’re adding new sensors or converting existing ones, INSTEON compatibility will significantly increase the safety and convenience of living in your home. Looking for something with more switching power or don't need a sense wire? We now offer a 20-Amp version: In-LineLinc Relay - INSTEON Remote Control In-Line On/Off Switch (Dual-Band). In addition to higher capacity, this new version communicates both power line and radio frequency for improved response speed and overall network enhancement. A 2-Wire INSTEON Switch Kit (Non-Dimming) is also available (sold separately) which allows you to remotely control lights or appliances where a neutral wire is not present in the switch box. How Does it Work?In-LineLinc Relay w/ Sense uses its innovative sense wire to detect the presence of 120 volts. Once power is applied to the wire (from a motion sensor or other 120V-switching sensor), In-LineLinc Relay w/ Sense turns on its connected load as well as all linked INSTEON devices. It will also turn off its connected load and linked INSTEON devices when power is removed.

Built with a Quieter Relay
Because the In-LineLinc Relay is built with a much quieter relay than most remote-control ON/OFF relays, it has a click that's more than 80 percent quieter than traditional relay switches. This allows you to control lights and other non-dimmable devices remotely without waking up the baby, annoying other family members, or sending your cat fleeing across the room. The click of the In-LineLinc Relay's internal relay is barely audible.
Generates Less Heat
Unlike triac-based switches, the In-LineLinc Relay uses a hard-contact relay to control the load. Other switches use a semiconductor that absorbs about two volts of power and dissipates the heat through the front of the module. By using a relay, the device runs cooler and full voltage gets to the load.
Compatibility
The In-LineLinc Relay is fully INSTEON compatible and X10 ready. Homeowners with existing X10 networks can easily migrate to an INSTEON network without having to discard all their existing X10 devices. X10 ready means that the In-LineLinc Relay can respond to X10 commands from an X10 controller and it can send X10 commands to X10 devices. Please note that INSTEON devices repeat INSTEON signals but not X10.
Non-Volatile Memory
All In-LineLinc Relay settings are stored in non-volatile memory and are not lost during power failures. Additionally, in the event of a power loss, the In-LineLinc Relay will return to its last on/off state when power is restored.
