Remotely control and dim your lights, even if you don't have those once-needed neutral wires in your switch boxes. Now you can enjoy the speed and reliability of INSTEON where never-before possible. Don't have a neutral somewhere you'd like to control ANY load type? An INSTEON 2-wire On/Off Kit is also available. Do I have neutrals? How it WorksThe INSTEON 2-wire Dimmer Kit comes with two main pieces: a companion switch that installs in the switch box and a fixture dimmer that installs in your light fixture. With these two devices you'll now be able to convert one of your two wires in your switch box to a neutral, enabling reliable control of your light. The companion switch and fixture dimmer are "paired" at the factory so both devices will act as one. This means that once they're installed, you won't have to go back into the fixture, either for control OR for linking to other INSTEON-compatible devices. Simply put, the companion switch's SET button acts as a remote SET button for the fixture dimmer, giving you added convenience and flexibility.

Scene Lighting
Scenes allow you to control multiple lights, rooms or even the whole home with a single command. Because the 2-wire kit can be a member of more than 400 scenes (i.e. "Movie Time," "Party," "Romance," etc.), you'll be able to launch various lighting scenarios with a single button press. These are elegant features usually found only in systems costing tens of thousands of dollars and requiring extensive rewiring of your home. All member lights can ramp to your independently desired brightness levels at your chosen ramp rate(s). So one set of lights can dim slowly, while another set turns off instantly, all controlled with one command from one button. If you want to control multiple scenes from one controller, upgrade to the INSTEON KeypadLinc Dimmer.
X10 Compatible
The INSTEON 2-wire Kit is fully INSTEON compatible and X10 ready. Homeowners with existing X10 networks can easily migrate to an INSTEON network without having to discard all their existing X10 devices. X10 ready means that it can respond to X10 commands from an X10 controller and it can send X10 commands to X10 devices. Please note that INSTEON devices repeat INSTEON signals but not X10.
Non-Volatile Memory
All 2-wire kit settings are stored in non-volatile memory and are not lost during power failures. Additionally, in the event of a power loss, the 2-wire Dimmer Kit will return to its last brightness level when power is restored.
